  Deenabandhu Teacher Resource Centre Chamarajanagar
 
  Vision:
        To develop Teaching - learning models in support of primary education and to provide sustained support for teachers to make use of them in such a way that the rote learning is replaced by experiential learning.
  Mission:
        To establish a Teacher Resource Center with appropriate Teaching and Learning Material relevant to different subjects. TRC also provides sustainable support for professional development of teachers so that they will appreciate the importance of experiential learning.
  Objectives:
  To develop appropriate science and Math activities coupled with suitable TLM so that the child can comprehend and experience the concept.
To train desirous teachers through workshops so that they will appreciate the importance of conducting activities to improve comprehension among children.
To continue with research and development for improved TLMs/ alternate models of TLMs, developing an activity that need no special TLMs.
To provide comprehensive educational support for selected Primary Schools by sharing literature developed in Kannada, worksheets/ workbooks, self-access cards, biodiversity cards, teacher lesson cards, children activity cards and best practices developed and to upload most of these to web with open access.
To produce educational videos in Kannada language with a special focus on Science and Maths. To upload the same to web with an open access so that all Kannada medium children/ teachers all over Karnataka can avail.
 
  Teacher’s support activities:
        The TRC is providing sustained support for professional development of select Govt. primary schools in four clusters of Chamarajanagar district.

      During the first phase (2006 to 2010) of the project 18 Govt. higher primary schools were covered about 110 Govt. primary school teachers received the support from TRC. During the phase-II (2010 to 2014) 30 Govt. primary schools and about 160 primary school teachers received support for professional development through workshops, interaction meetings and seminar discussions.       During the project period five School Based Resource Centers (SBRC) are established in different select schools, thanks to SIR RATAN TATA TRUST and to NAVAJBAI RATAN TATA TRUAT for funding the project. With SBRC schools 4 to 5 adjacent schools are tied up to collectively make use of the resources for classroom transaction. The impact assessment of the project was done through analysis of teacher practice indicators, analysis of paper pencil test results conducted for all the children of 5th, 6th and 7th standard.
